Reserve the building resources

Ask about freight elevators, loading bays, service entrances, parking permits, insurance certificates, and allowed work hours.

Measure the route

Note door width, elevator dimensions, tight turns, stair count, and the distance from the unit to the truck. Large pieces may need disassembly.

Protect shared areas

Use floor protection where the building requires it and keep fire doors, exits, sprinklers, and resident paths open.

Confirm removal authority

Landlords and property managers should follow the lease, local law, and their own documentation process before treating property as abandoned.
